Bubble Hair Is The Bouncy Hair Trend to Copy This Spring 2023

bubblegum pink hair

To achieve this look, it’s important to find a skilled colorist. Trust me, it’s the best way to help create the perfect shade of pink to match your style and personality! Your pink locks can be bold and beautiful with the right color. Marshmallow is a delicate pink that will give you a weightless hairstyle and looks extremely delightful.

Pastel Pink

In other words, if you don't like the pink for whatever reason, you won't have to live with dread for long — whereas, say, neon green might seriously muddle with your hair. But if you do end up digging it, "pink, especially pastel pink, is also an awesome gateway drug to playing with more daring creative colors," Jordan adds. This dark to bright pink ombre hairstyle is bold yet minimal.

Neon Pink

This particular hue was created by color specialist Felicia Jean of Williamsburg, VA. I love this fading ombre finish that starts lilac and then washes out adorably to her wavy ends. Using the best hair care products is key to achieving this smooth and shiny hair. It brings a sense of delicacy and whimsy to your look, proving that pink hair can be both daring and delightfully demure. Pre-existing color will need to go through a color correction process to remove the old color before it can process to a lighter blonde.

#48: Edgy & Vivid Pink

It complements smoothly waved hair and creates a dimensional appearance that’s enhanced beautifully. The combination of hair colors is similar to the one worn by A-lister Mary Charteris. It’s a creative way to see if brighter shades of tresses can look great on a woman. To help keep this color, the best option for you would be to plan on being in the salon more often. If you cannot achieve the hair color result you want on your own, going to a professional colorist could give you a more even and consistent result. It is very common for hair dressers to do color corrections for DIY-ers.

This unique take on pink hair incorporates streaks of gentle lilac, creating a whimsical play of color. Get this look by melting panels of complimentary shades of Lime Crime Bright Pink-Bunny ($17) and Neon Peach ($17). As mentioned before, these looks work best on prelightened hair.

The Secret to Having Perfect Pink Hair Color? Don’t Bleach Your Roots

These dramatic unicorn baby pink rose hues on long waves are to die for, and it’s time to try ’em! Amp it up on a half updo with waves and a moon hair clip to stand out. Ombré pink hair is something to try when looking for a new style. Considering these tips, suppose you need help deciding if this is your dream hair. A good glam style option would be long pink hair with curled ends. It would be helpful to use a good color-enhancing shampoo and conditioner at home to keep this color fresh.

Another option is to let it fade out to a dusty rose version and still get the best of it. Rock a pink one-length lob cut with fringe if you love the color pink and want to feel like you’re living in a barbie world! Pink hair is always my favorite color choice for women who love vivid hair but might need help figuring out where to start. I also like how doing one solid color is easily manageable.

#6: Soft Baby Pink Long Hairstyle

The money piece technique helps soften and brighten your complexion and, unlike other dye jobs, is easy to maintain. It’s a style that offers both subtlety and statement, proving that sometimes, less is truly more. These looks ideally get achieved on prelightened hair – anywhere from a platinum to light blonde. In order for any bright color to show up true to its intended tone and formulation, it’s important to lift to the proper level of blonde for the best result. Once you find your favorite look, be sure to show the picture from the list below to your stylist so they know just the right shade of hair dye to whip up for you.

If you want to be cool for the summer, this sweet watermelon pink color with dark roots is for you. Show off this pretty color with some layers, streaks, and texture for a dimensional result. It takes a lot of maintenance to handle this hot pink electrifying color. This gradient pink hairstyle complements any hair texture and length.

Your hair colorist should inform you about maintenance to make sure a fashion color is the right fit for you. If you want your long hairstyle to have a soft and delicate touch, think about a beautiful soft baby pink shade. This dreamy color is a great pick for those who like a feminine and romantic vibe. The soft baby pink shade brings sweetness to your look and suits various skin tones. Soft baby pink complements beautifully all types of complexion, whether it’s fair, medium, or dark. To achieve the soft baby pink shade, consider consulting a professional colorist.

The result is a beautifully delicate and warm shade that brings a touch of whimsy to your style, guaranteed to garner compliments at every turn. Between muted pastels and vibrant neon shades, there's a shade of pink that will definitely catch your eye. So, if you're ready to play around with your tresses, give some of these pink hair dyes a try. Pink tips are a trend that has remained strong for several seasons and is winning the hearts of fashionistas of all ages.

Just make sure to moisturize to keep your pink-tinted locks healthy and strong. You may opt for pink long hair with pops of purple for an edgy and colorful look. You will feel like a gorgeous fairy, and I guarantee you will turn many heads. You can maintain this color at home with Celeb Luxury Viral Hot Pink Colorwash Shampoo. But for touch-ups and multiple colors, you will need to see a stylist often.

If it's naturally dark, you'll need to lighten it with bleach first and that can cause quite a bit of damage. Getting highlights can also damage the hair and make it break off, too. That happened to be the case with a client of Maryland-based hairstylist Kiera Cecil.

Choose a pure pigment color that’s subtle enough to appear pastel. When selecting a shade of pink, opt for one with a light to medium pink that will pop with your dark roots. Use the celeb luxury viral color wash light pink between hair color appointments. For those seeking a bold and edgy hairstyle, I suggest a pink bob with asymmetrical yellow bangs. This unique combination adds a vibrant and playful touch to your look. And the asymmetrical yellow bangs add a pop of contrasting color.

If you’re looking to add a bright and catchy color to your hair, dark pink balayage hair might be perfect for you. It blends with your natural hair to give a beautiful and special look. With a rich and deep color, it complements different skin tones, including light, medium, and dark. Whether your skin has a warm or cool shade, balayage can add depth to your hair. Bubblegum pink is the quintessential light pink hair color everyone thinks of with this trend.

How do you refresh your pink hair color at home?

You’ll want to bleach your hair to level 9-10 all over before toning with this balanced warm/cool pink that suits all skin tones. Your hair will be the topic of conversation when you go for a soft pink bob with bangs. Fashion colors of pink are always fun to experiment with, but they are a lot of maintenance. Pre-lighting your hair to a blonde has to be achieved to get a light pink hue.

Pink and Green Hair – A Flattering Color Combination To Rock

That being said, before you dive into our roundup of the best pink hair dyes and tints, study up on hair dyeing tips. For even darker shades, like black, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you won't get much use out of most of the products. And before you ask, colorists don't recommend bleaching your own hair at home. With the waves mixed with the pinky rose gold color, I picture a beautiful mermaid-like Hailey Baldwin Bieber.

Faded Rose

You can’t go wrong with voluminous pigtails if you’re trying to find a style to wear your hair to an upcoming festival or night out at a rave party. This style is especially cute if you have bangs or jawbone framing bits. For anyone wanting to add pink to their hair, thick magenta is the best option. This bright color gives the hair a stunning, almost magical look. Think of a soft, dreamy shade that combines the best of both worlds – the freshness of peach with the girlish charm of pastel pink.

#35: Blunt Bob with Pink Highlights and Dark Roots

Repeat until all sections of your hair are fully saturated! It’s a perfect option for women who want to try something colorful but nothing too bright. A lilac pink tint is a demure hue sought after by millennials right now. These pink hair ideas can only be achieved on pre-bleached hair. The copper rose pink color and vibrant mocha look amazing when combined.

Celeb Luxury Viral Colorwash in Pastel Light Pink

For a unique look, you can try pastel ombre with vibrant pink or a striking lavender tint. It communicates that you are unique, creative, and unafraid to explore yourself. Light pink is a delicate and modest shade of hair dye for natural hair. It is a superb hair color for people with fair or cool skin tones. Short and sassy haircuts are so cute with light pink color and this look is no exception! Try a soft blush pink with any undertone (warm, cool, or neutral).

But now that we're cooped up at home with no need to step into an office, we're all given the chance to experiment with NSFW shades on our strands. You don’t want to give up your natural color, but don’t mind making your brown base more playful? Pink highlights can perfectly emphasize the luxury and depth of different shades, from chestnut to caramel. If you want a pretty and low-maintenance hair color then pink peekaboo is the best choice.

About a year ago, the client got highlights that left her with major breakage. However, she wanted to try out rainbow hair, but in a low-key, professional way because she is a veterinarian. Cecil recently shared her artistry on Instagram as she created the gorgeous look seen below. Pink champagne makes a romantic hair color, which radiates a playful impression. Feel free to upgrade the locks with waves to create a subtle texture.

bubblegum pink hair

Its delicate warmth brings a touch of elegance to your look, proving that pink hair can be both fun and sophisticated. Balayage, a French word meaning ‘to sweep’ or ‘to paint’, is a hair coloring technique that creates a gradual, natural-looking highlight effect. In this case, we’re talking about a mesmerizing sweep of sun-kissed blonde flowing into a pop of bubblegum pink. Bubblegum, watermelon, millennial — there are a plethora of pink hair colors out there to experiment with.

A bob is forever a classic hair choice, and a bright pink hue breathes new life into the style. We love the contrast of the vibrant color and the polished, blunt cut. Bubblegum pink color is a soft and sweet candy pink hue painted on pre-lightened hair. To keep this vibrancy, it may require more maintenance at home.

You can rock light pink locks with fair, medium, or deep skin tones. But matching your light pink color to your skin’s undertone is pretty essential. Mismatched colors can exacerbate redness or make you look sickly.

Alexandria Park Village was created to provide temporary housing (four to six months) for Los Angeles's homeless population. Each 64-foot square unit has two beds, heat, air-conditioning, windows, a small desk, electrical outlets, and a front door. All residents are given full access to an array of social services including case management, housing navigation, mental health services, substance abuse counseling, as well as job training and placement. This facility differs from congregant shelters as it allows couples to stay together. At the ceremony on Thursday — which, inexplicably, featured a speech from actor Tim Allen yet none from anyone experiencing homelessness and which drew a protest from advocates, one of whom held up a sign that read “Being Houseless Is Not a Crime” — L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti declared the opening of the village a turning point.

years after 'Little House,' Nellie still queen of the prairie

His parents fought, his mother was downright horrible to him, in adulthood he kept getting divorced – he was fantasizing about having a perfect family life just like our viewers. While many fans of Little House on the Prairie absolutely hated “Nasty” Nellie Oleson (I know I couldn’t stand the character!), the bratty rival to its star Laura Ingalls (Melissa Gilbert), Alison Arngrim didn’t usually mind playing the bully. In fact, she says that it may have saved her from a horrible childhood and problems later in life.

Early life

In 1891 they went to Tillamook, Oregon, where Nellie taught school and in married[3] Henry Francis Kirry (1869–1951). They moved to Bay City, Oregon, and had three children; Zola (1894–1986), Lloyd (1896–1961) and Leslie (1900–1931). Soon, the Kirrys changed their home again by moving to Rainier, Oregon, in 1899.[3] Her brother Willie went blind from a firecracker explosion, attended a school for the blind, married, and also had three children. In terms of the design, Lehrer Architects selected each community's vibrant palette. "In projects like these, design matters to uplift residents and to respectfully complete and enhance the neighborhood," the firm noted in a press release back in February. It further explained that shelters of the same color were grouped together in order to create a coherent sense of a village.

Alison Arngrim didn’t know anything about ‘Little House on the Prairie’

It sound bizarre to say that the set of Little House, such a family, wholesome show, and one that where nearly every episode came in ahead of schedule and under budget, was running on beer and liquor all day, but it was. Arngrim had no trouble auditioning for the role of Nellie Oleson. She says when she read for the part, the producers, which included Michael Landon, began laughing uncontrollably. According to her, they thought she was so funny that they “became hysterical” with laughter.

Nellie makes an effort to learn what Percival is teaching her, and hopes to attract his affections in return.

She was also a frequent panelist on the short-lived NBC game show Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour. Arngrim's character grew in importance during the series (as did the roles of the entire Oleson family) as she served as a perfect antagonist to honest, tomboyish Laura Ingalls, played by Melissa Gilbert. Nellie and Laura feuded during their school years together, which was at times comically paralleled with quarreling between the two girls' mothers, Harriet Oleson and Caroline Ingalls (Karen Grassle).

The “Little House on the Prairie” Years

They will make fun of the show, and at the same time they will cry at every episode, and they have it on DVD, and they absolutely worship it, and they love Michael Landon. Stella Gilbert is the third girl to be based on the character of Nellie Oleson. With a mother who was ill and bedridden, Almanzo innocently brought Stella along on buggy rides, not realizing the conflict between Stella and Laura. While it is unclear if Stella had any romantic intentions towards Almanzo, when Laura inserted the character of Nellie Oleson into this role, it became clear that Nellie had romantic intentions towards him.

As long as it fit in with the character and his vision for the episode, you had quite a bit of leeway. I’ve said many times that he was a big believer in, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” He’d say, “Let’s try one,” and see what the actors did with the scene. If he liked it, he’d shrug and that’s what we’d all do for the take. When Percival and Nellie are expecting their first child, Percival’s parents arrive in Walnut Grove for a visit. To much surprise, it is revealed that Percival Dalton is actually Isaac Cohen, and that he is Jewish.

It has helped set up a number of similar model communities like this in California, as well as in a few other states across the country. However, this was the city's first time working with Pallet. "Confessions of a Prairie Bitch'' isn't strictly "Little House'' lore.

A  scene might only be one or two pages long and have only four lines. With all the kids on the show, we filmed a lot during the summer – (during the school year, we all had to have our California law mandated “three hours school” on set) – and in Simi Valley in the summer, temperatures often reach 110 degrees or more. A typical episode took about five to seven days to shoot, working Monday through Friday. Some on location (Big kly Ranch in Simi Valley California) and some in the sound stage at the studio (Paramount Studios for the first few years, then MGM, now known as Sony). We’d usually start with the location scenes, since if anything is going to go wrong, it will most likely be the outdoor stuff. In the case of some crew members, quite “oiled” as they were very fond of beer!

She admitted that playing a mean girl allowed her to yell and fight and get out feelings that were plaguing her in her younger years. The Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission, a nonprofit that believes "that everybody and everything deserves a second chance," manages both of these communities. The Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission works to prevent, reduce and eliminate poverty, hunger, and homelessness by offering immediate assistance and long-term solutions.

Alison Arngrim is a natural-born performer with a love for people and a gift for making them laugh. So, not surprisingly, she entered the entertainment field at a young age, starting out in commercials and bit parts and moving up through the years. She had a recurring spot on a panel-style show called “Juvenile Jury” and filmed “Throw Out the Anchor” – a full-length movie – in Florida when she was 10. For even more on the three girls behind the Nellie Oleson character, read The Three Faces of Nellie Oleson by Robynne Elizabeth Miller. Fast-forward to 2023, and Arngrim says her and her former co-stars are already planning big things for next year, the 50th anniversary of the show's debut.

The actress played Nellie Oleson on seven seasons of the show, which ended 40 years go this month.

It was the second such injunction filed against the city, which is currently racing to offer housing to everyone living under and around freeways, per Carter’s orders. Ray Ellin, according to Wikipedia, is a comedian, talk show host, producer, writer, and director. According to Sleeping with Celebrities, he is also a fairly fanatical devotee of the television series Little House on the Prairie and he discusses it freely, openly, and in great detail on our latest episode.

Where does Alison Arngrim think the ‘Little House on the Prairie’ characters would be 35 years later?

According to her, he didn’t think anyone would watch a show about life on a prairie and it would be a “miracle” if the show lasted. By the time Arngrim got home, her agent had already negotiated her salary and scheduled a wardrobe fitting the following week. She says this was the easiest role she ever auditioned for. “I can honestly say this was the easiest role I ever landed before or since,” says Arngrim in her book. Nellie Oleson was spoiled throughout her childhood, particularly by her mother Harriet, who wanted to indulge Nellie’s every whim.

L.A. Built a Tiny-House Village for Homeless Residents, and Some Aren’t So Sure About It

The villages mark a puzzling shift in L.A.’s strategy, which had previously declared tiny homes insufficient for housing. Just a few years ago, three dozen of them — also painted in bright primary colors — were built around the city through a crowdfunding campaign led by activist Elvis Summers, but the city attempted to seize the occupied homes. “Mayor Eric Garcetti does not favor tiny houses for homeless people,” a spokesperson said in 2016.

She would always try to sabotage Laura, but failed in her efforts. At the end of most episodes, Laura would successfully exact her revenge on Nellie. Throughout the series, she has had horse manure thrown on her, was pushed down a hill in a wheelchair, was pushed into the mud, and was even punched in the face by Laura at least twice! After some years, Laura and Nellie stopped hating each other and then they became close friends. As a gift for finishing school, Harriet and Nels gave Nellie a restaurant.

Besides that, she's working on a cookbook (she already has a YouTube cooking show), a newsletter on all things Nellie and a podcast, The Alison Arngrim Show, on which she has hosted Prairie friend Gilbert. "I was 19 years old, and I'd been there since I was 12," Arngrim says. Another thing that has held up over the years are the friendships between cast members, who also include late writer/director/executive producer Michael Landon (Pa), Melissa Gilbert (Laura), Karen Grassle (Ma) and Melissa Sue Anderson (Mary). Sadly, some of them have died, but the ones who are still around meet up or chat by phone or email regularly. After declaring their love for each other, they decided to get married outdoors, due to Percival being Jewish and Nellie being Christian.

Alison indulged her audience with one last tumble into the creek, plopping down and crying “Mo-ther! After some time of young Alison not landing any roles, her father felt it necessary to explain that acting might not become a lifelong career for her and that she should consider stopping. But she had another audition in her, and within six months of that conversation, she would become Nellie Oleson. So that's what we see in the final episode, with the people of Walnut Grove having banded together one last time in order to keep the good thing they built together away from some greedy developers. So Arngrim actually wasn't part of the show's finale, but she remembers that it had her laughing when she watched it for the first time.

Arngrim says they loved her performance so much that she was hired on the spot. Arngrim first auditioned for the role of Laura (the role eventually went to Melissa Gilbert). She was then called back to audition for the role of Mary (played by Melissa Sue Anderson). Those two roles didn’t work out, so Arngrim was called again to audition for the role of Nellie Oleson. Her father was one of the few people who could keep her in line.

You can learn more about its work and the two tiny home villages here. The organization is also currently looking for community members to "sponsor" a tiny home. Funds collected by sponsors will help pay for the operational costs of the site. For both the Alexandria Park Village and Chandler Boulevard Bridge Home Village, the city tapped Washington-based builder Pallet Shelter to provide the units. The company specializes in creating durable, portable, and affordable shelters for those without a home.

Each structure offers privacy, security, and a home base where people can connect with services and eventually make their way into permanent housing. The strip of land alongside the 170 Freeway in North Hollywood has long been a place where homeless people have set up camp. The former homeless encampment has been transformed into a village of tiny homes with enough space to house 200 homeless people. After leaving Little House, Arngrim appeared in guest-starring roles on such television series as The Love Boat and Fantasy Island.

I was and am still very proud of the work I did as Nellie. So even though, from a professional, financial outlook, being typecast  as anything can really suck, I couldn’t help buy take it as a compliment that people so bought into what I was doing that they BELIEVED IT WAS REAL. Well, let’s see – my name is Alison Arngrim, I’m an actress, writer and stand-up comedian. When I'm not writing about entertainment, lifestyle, or personal finance, I'm thinking about where I'm going to get my next cup of coffee. "I've had people show up at my show in New York and Seattle and Boston and San Francisco wearing bonnets. Grown people, at 10 o'clock at night, in a nightclub, wearing bonnets, dressed as Laura, carrying the lunchbox as an evening bag,'' she said. Alison Arngrim knew she hit a nerve with her portrayal of Nellie Oleson on "Little House on the Prairie'' when she took an orange soda to the head as a 16-year-old child star riding in the Santa Claus Lane Christmas Parade in Hollywood.

Nellie Oleson was the name Laura gave to her biggest rival in On the Banks of Plum Creek, Little Town on the Prairie and These Happy Golden Years. But Nellie Oleson was actually based on three schoolmates from Laura’s childhood, so she would not have to name them personally in the books. This is only one of two instances where Laura delibrately used fictionalized names for certain unpleasant characters.

"It's the one with the girl who stutters. Oof!," Arngrim says. "So Nellie has a club, and I'm the president, and I rule everyone. Why Laura would want to be in Nellie's club is not quite explained. I don't know. But she has this friend [Anna] who stutters and stammers. And so I treat her horribly and make fun of her." Even so, Arngrim told Yahoo Entertainment in May 2021 that, for child actors, being on Little House was like winning the "child safety lottery."

How to create a free and easy design board

design boards

There are a lot of expensive and complicated design programs out there! They will allow you to layout a room and fill it with decor. However many of us don’t have the money or time to invest in these fancy programs. A much faster option us using a design or inspiration board to give a visual before starting a project. Below I used a photo of the space I was inspired by (in this case, it’s my own design that I was recreating for a home show), but you can see how it helps inform the feeling of the design board. I’ve just added a border around it to help it feel intentional and not just an afterthought.

Ways to Remove Backgrounds From Images

I simply snapped a picture of the chair and uploaded it to Canva and removed the background. You can see a screen recording of this in the YouTube Video. Sometimes pieces like this are a little bit more complicated, but once Canva removes the background it pulls up two brushes to either restore or erase from the original uploaded image. Miro’s mood board creator allows you to edit every aspect of the board, including colors, fonts, images, frames, and files. Quickly access the many editing tools on the left toolbar and create a mood board that fits your needs.

Expand and add more

If you’re pretty certain which items you want to use, you can create your design board right away (see Step 4). If you’re really stuck on some design decisions though, it’s really helpful to create a primitive “mock up” of your room using all your images. For our family room, I had a difficult time envisioning which fabric + table + lamp combinations would work best. After swapping out all the various images I had saved, I quickly landed on a look I liked the most. The elements of a Mood Board help a designer present their vision for a specific room/project down to every detail.

Step 1. Find and Save Images

If you’re finding all the furniture is facing the same way or something feels backwards, try using the mirror function. It’s called ‘flip’ in the top tool bar when your image is selected. If you’re finding it looks choppy and not lively, you can tilt that rug, stagger the things that would be on the floor, move the light to one side and have the art up higher on the other. It isn’t going to look exactly like the room, the goal here is to get all of the finishes on one page to see how they play together Not to recreate a digital version of your space. You could also just add a rectangle and change the color the same way.

design boards

The first place I go to when I am wanting to design a space and create a mood board is Pinterest. I start pinning images of rooms I love on Pinterest and get some ideas for what I want my space to look like. A design board is a photo of home decor, furniture, paint colors etc. layed out for a visual of what a room will look like prior to actually purchasing or decorating a room. So let’s get that inspiration off of your pinterest board and to some actual plans with your own interior design mood board to help you make decisions for your home projects with confidence. This style of design board is really great for seeing how everything works together and providing an at-a-glance snapshot of the collective design of the space. If something isn’t jiving, this type of design board will reveal it right away (and thankfully, it’s pretty easy to swap out at this stage!).

At its core, an interior design board is a visual representation of a room’s potential. Think of it as a room’s vision board, where dreams meet reality. Now that you have your product images it’s time to arrange them all on a mood/design board.

Upload different items into this site and write down all the color codes and compare the color codes to each other to see if they will match in your design. This is how I discover if items have the same color tones and will coordinate in my design. This tutorial shows you how to remove the background in Picmonkey. Pickmonkey also has a one-click removal with a paid subscription. Most people won’t need the paid version unless you make a lot of graphic images for your business. Also, Picmonkey will not let you download the image once you are done unless you have the paid version.

Designing a room in your home can be overwhelming especially if you’re like me and you like so many different styles and see so many things that inspire you. This will work great for you whether you are simply decorating a room by updating furniture and accents or you are going after a full-blown renovation. There are many app-based Mood Board creators available on the market. Ensuring that your Mood Boards are accessible from an app is key.

Some websites will let you right click and save the image, then you can upload it to Canva under the ‘uploads’ tab. You can also just copy the image from the website listing and paste it into Canva. Although, some websites will block both of these actions.

Plants, natural textures, art and pattern can all help so much! You can also erase parts of the image using the Magic Eraser tool, also found under Edit Photo. It’s very simple to use, you just brush over the parts of the image you’d like to erase. You can change the size of the brush and I like to zoom right in to make sure I’m getting just the bits I’m aiming for. This will think for a second and then remove the background for you. If the Image doesn’t have a background, you’ll get to just drop it into place, size it by pulling the corner dots when the image is selected and place it how you like.

Chief Witness Against Gaetz Is Cooperating With House Ethics Investigation The New York Times

The House Ethics Committee has opened an investigation into Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), who is reportedly also the subject of a Justice Department inquiry into whether he had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old and paid for her travel, potentially violating federal sex trafficking laws. Multiple sources have told CBS News federal investigators are looking into a Bahamas trip Gaetz allegedly took in late 2018 or early 2019 as a part of their inquiry. Gaetz also faces allegations that he had an inappropriate sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl and paid for her to travel with him, which he has denied.

He may have been talking about Rep. Nancy Mace, a South Carolina congresswoman who was one of the eight Republicans who voted to oust McCarthy. She said in a statement that her vote was "about trust and keeping your word." Mace, who supported McCarthy for speaker in January — and knocked Gaetz for blocking him — said that McCarthy "has not lived up to his word on how the House would operate." In practice, Congress has missed that deadline with growing frequency in recent years.

Matt Gaetz attended 2017 party where minor and drugs were present, woman's sworn statement obtained by Congress claims

“I’ve said all along the Supreme Court needs to clear this up,” she wrote on social media. Even as he promoted himself as the most pro-Israel president in history, Mr. Trump once more criticized the nation’s “public relations” failures over seven months of war in Gaza. Mr. Trump would also not take a position on whether women should have access to mifepristone, a widely used abortion medication at the center of a Supreme Court case. Mr. Trump did not answer a question about how he would vote on a Florida referendum that would overturn a six-week abortion ban that he has previously criticized. Mr. Trump cleared the way for the court’s decision by appointing three conservative justices, and he has celebrated his role in the ruling. But he told Time that he would be willing to involve both the National Guard and U.S. troops to do it, both at the border and within the country, though he presented the use of U.S. soldiers as a last resort.

Election Updates: In a lengthy interview, Trump leaves open possibility of violence in election aftermath.

Greenberg has and will cooperate with any congressional request,” Mr. Scheller said in an email on Friday. A lawyer for the chief witness against Representative Matt Gaetz, Republican of Florida, said on Friday that the witness was cooperating with a House Ethics Committee investigation into whether Mr. Gaetz had sex with an underage girl while he was serving in Congress. The remarks by Ms. Omar were the latest example of how the war in the Middle East has proved to be an agonizingly difficult issue to navigate across the political spectrum, but particularly on the left, which has split from the Democratic Party’s long history of support for Israel. Sunjay Muralitharan, the vice president of the College Democrats and a student at the University of California, San Diego, said the decision to release the statement stemmed from a shift in the organization’s understanding of its own role. Mr. Biden has called for a temporary cease-fire and said he supports an eventual two-state solution.

The third-term Republican claims he and his family are victims of an extortion attempt by a former department official. While Mr. Trump has yet to name a running mate who might be able to campaign for the ticket while he is in court, Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday began a national tour aimed at energizing Black voters in battleground states, appearing first in Atlanta. Former President Donald J. Trump’s felony criminal trial will resume today in Manhattan, beginning the third week of a historic trial against a former president — who is also the presumptive Republican presidential nominee. President Biden will head to Wilmington, the nerve center of his re-election campaign, for a campaign event in Delaware. Mr. Biden’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee did not respond to requests for comment. Supreme Court ruling last year in which the justices threw out Alabama’s congressional boundaries, finding that they did not adequately account for the state’s Black population.

Gaetz’s Ouster of McCarthy Draws Attention to His Ethics Issues

A group of Republican holdouts led by Gaetz withheld their support to extract several concessions from him. Greenberg has been in contact with the Ethics Committee for weeks and has provided documents related to the case, sources told ABC News. News that the committee is asking questions about Gaetz and alleged drug use comes weeks after the Florida congressman grilled President Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden, about his own admitted drug use during a closed-door session with the House Oversight Committee.

The House probe into Gaetz's conduct was reopened last July after the Ethics Committee initially deferred its investigation at the request of the Justice Department, which conducted its own years-long probe that concluded without charging Gaetz in 2023. U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., seen here at the Conservative Political Action Conference in February, confirms he's under investigation by the Justice Department but denies the allegations tied to the inquiry. Representative Matt Gaetz’s successful push to oust Speaker Kevin McCarthy has cemented his status as one of the most reviled members of the House of Representatives — including among many of his fellow Republicans — and drawn attention to a long-running investigation by the House Ethics Committee into Mr. Gaetz’s conduct.

'New witnesses:' Ethics committee ramps up investigation into Matt Gaetz sex allegations

"We've had no vote on term limits or on balanced budgets, as the agreement demanded and required. There's been no full release of the Jan. 6 tapes, as you promised. There has been insufficient accountability for the Biden crime family," the Florida Republican said. "Instead of cutting spending to raise the debt limit, you relied on budgetary gimmicks and rescissions so that you ultimately ended up serving as the valet to underwrite Biden's debt and advance his spending agenda." "Speaker McCarthy made an agreement with House conservatives in January. And, since then, he has been in brazen, repeated material breach of that agreement," Gaetz said. Back in January, when Republicans took control of the House, McCarthy was struggling to win the backing of a majority of the House to become speaker.

ABC News previously reported that the House Ethics Committee had subpoenaed Gaetz's ex-girlfriend for testimony, which she sat for in late February. "I'll give you the truth why I'm not speaker," McCarthy said at an event at Georgetown University. "It's because one person, a member of Congress, wanted me to stop an ethics complaint because he slept with a 17-year-old." When asked if Rep. Gaetz recalled attending the 2017 party, a spokesperson for the Florida Congressman told ABC News, "No." The spokesperson also said "no" when asked if Gaetz has used illicit drugs since becoming a member of Congress. Committee investigators have inquired about whether Gaetz was under the influence of drugs at parties in Florida after becoming a member of Congress in 2017, according to the sources. "Once again, the office will reiterate, these allegations are blatantly false and have not been validated by a single human being willing to put their name behind them," his office said.

"It's great to see the Ethics Committee has interests beyond trading stocks," Gaetz told ABC News in response to its reporting. "I think all the days in Congress, there are probably in the seven years I've been in Congress, there have only been tens of days when I haven't been under one form of ethics investigation or another," Gaetz said. "I've never been found to have violated any ethical laws. I won't be found to have violated them in this matter either." Gaetz, when the probe was reopened in July, blasted the Ethic Committee for "trying to weaponize their process." Responding to the new developments, Gaetz told ABC News in a statement, "It's great to see the Ethics Committee has interests beyond trading stocks. They seem to be quite the unusual whales." House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., has said if the "serious" allegations are true, Gaetz would be removed from his committee assignments.

Mr. Gaetz led the revolt among House Republicans that ultimately ousted Mr. McCarthy from the speakership. The SAR framework solidified how DoS, USAID, and DoD would work together to advance stabilization efforts. DoS, USAID, and DoD have developed new tools to operationalize SAR principles, including to craft political strategies, partner with other international donors, target and sequence stabilization assistance resources, and monitor and evaluate strategic outcomes. United States embassy teams in certain countries have, with assistance from relevant Combatant Commands, developed integrated stabilization plans and modalities to apply SAR principles.

Committee investigators have asked witnesses whether they had seen or had knowledge of Gaetz using and or purchasing drugs himself, sources said. Reed did not immediately respond to CBS News' request for comment on the investigations. According to Punchbowl, the Ethics Committee is now reexamining allegations against him, but hasn't yet decided whether it will move forward with a special investigative subcommittee, but if it does, the move would be publicly disclosed. Punchbowl News reports that the House Ethics Committee has quietly reopened a probe into the Republican rep. "These allegations are not true," Gaetz said Wednesday in response to the recent reports. "They've never been true. The people who have made these allegations have been exposed, indicted, and in some cases, imprisoned."

The ex was also one of the women who was allegedly on a 2018 trip to the Bahamas with Gaetz and others, including the minor, which the House ethics committee is also investigating, sources said. Among other things, the report accused Santos of engaging in criminal activity, including ripping off donors and spending their cash on Botox and OnlyFans. Joel Greenberg, a one-time close friend of Rep. Matt Gaetz who was sentenced to 11 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges including federal sex trafficking, is cooperating with the House Ethics Committee probe into the Florida congressman, sources familiar with the committee's work tell ABC News. The House Ethics Committee announced Friday it has opened an investigation into Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz. The investigation comes after multiple sources told CBS News that federal investigators are probing whether the Florida man violated sex trafficking laws. Gaetz, who is being investigated by the House committee over allegations that include sexual misconduct, has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.

Their messaging has sought to pin state abortion bans directly on Mr. Trump, whose appointees to the Supreme Court helped overturn Roe v. Wade. And even as Mr. Trump said he did not anticipate political violence this year, he predicated that answer on his winning in November. On the campaign trail, Mr. Trump has consistently made false and debunked claims that the 2020 election was stolen from him by Democrats, and he has primed his supporters to believe that the only fair election is one that he wins — something he repeated in the interview. Although it was paused during the Justice Department’s investigation, The New York Times reported that the committee picked it back up after federal investigators declined to charge Gaetz.

CNN reported in July that the House Ethics Committee in July had revived a probe into allegations against Gaetz that include sexual misconduct and drug use. The Justice Department in February told witnesses in the sex trafficking investigation into Gaetz that it would not bring charges against the Florida congressman. The department had been investigating Gaetz to determine if he violated sex trafficking laws or obstructed justice during its probe. Gaetz's ex-girlfriend, who previously worked on Capitol Hill, allegedly has knowledge not only regarding the congressman but also the one-time minor at the center of the sex trafficking investigation eventually closed by the Department of Justice without charging Gaetz.

Fan reaction was mixed, as many believed her normality served as a good contrast to the fantastic nature of the Turtles. This would be somewhat revealed in TMNT Volume 4, as April and Casey wondered why they couldn't have children and discovered deadly nanobots within her system, threatening her life. With help of the Utroms, the Turtles made TMNT-style Nanobots that saved April's life before Stockman's nanobots could reach her brainstem. After a few studies were conducted, they found that April is not the biological daughter of her parents. She would be injected with something, and though the Turtles defeated Baxter, it was never revealed what exactly April was injected with.

Fortunately, she’s very interesting, and has a ton of chemistry with the Ninja Turtles. Other than female and yellow top, not much else looks like the attractive character that fans have known since 1984. In the original Mirage Comics storyline for Eastman and Laird's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, April O'Neil (who originally sported a jumpsuit) was a skilled computer programmer and started out as an assistant for the villainous scientist Baxter Stockman.

The plot concerns an aspiring violinist who falls in love with a famous young movie star during a semester abroad on the Irish coast. It all started with a fan-initiated Facebook page repping the upcoming 30th anniversary of TMNT. Superfans of the film used the page to share photos and trivia about the movie, and the nostalgia-fest actually caught the attention of the cast. It’s unlikely she’s ever going to nab an Oscar, but her performance as April in the two Michael Bay-produced films is decent enough, and overall, she’s relatively fun to watch. She also has the unenviable task of carrying the 2014 film, seeing as she’s the main character, as the Ninja Turtles aren’t properly introduced for some time.

TMNT was her big break in film, and as a result she will likely always be remembered as the OG April O'Neil. With such an iconic role hanging over her head, a lesser actor might have spent the rest of her career trying to crawl out from under the shadow of her first blockbuster film, but Hoag has managed to maintain a steady and diverse flow of work over the past three decades. In the continuity of the IDW comics, April is a very bright science student who interns at Baxter Stockman's genetic laboratory Stock Gen, where her father used to work before a stroke rendered him paralyzed. It is there that she first meets the Turtles and Splinter (at that time ordinary lab animals subjected to an intelligence-enhancing serum) and gives the Turtles their names.

This is due to her being a half human, half Kraang-mutant as her mother was abducted and experimented on by the Kraang before she was born, including making her immune to mutagen. Her inherent psionic abilities are first hinted at in Episode 7, "Monkey Brains", when she had detected that a mutant-monkey was, in fact, a human scientist; merely saying that she "sometimes get a feeling about things", implying that she possesses extrasensory abilities as well. It even enabled her to hear far off sounds that Splinter, with his superhuman hearing, could not. April made her first appearance in the Mirage comic series in 1984 as a computer programmer. She was later portrayed as a strong-willed news reporter in the Turtles' first animated series, as a warrior in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures comic produced by Archie Comics, and various other personas in different TMNT media.

While Hoag's film career has been impressive, she really made her mark on television, where she's accumulated close to a hundred credits since her first on-screen appearance on PBS' American Playhouse in 1986. Over the years, Hoag has landed guest spots on some of the most popular shows on TV. Her credits include Roseanne, Melrose Place, The Nanny, Mad About You, The X-Files, Boston Public, NYPD Blue, Bones, Big Love, Grey's Anatomy, Sons of Anarchy, Weeds, Castle, Grimm, and Criminal Minds, among many others. She either has the hardest working agent in Hollywood, or her talent is just that adaptable.

Unlike some of the other versions of her character, the Mirage's comics version of April has dark brown/black hair (though early color reprints of Volume 1 depicted her hair color as red/light brown). Initially, the two could not stand each other, but during these events she would know Casey better and in time take a liking to him. During the mid-90's, April would live with her sister Robyn for a while during the events of "City at War" and find out their father died. Looking for a new place to live, she just happened to find the apartment Casey was living in. Eventually she would marry Casey and they would raise his adopted daughter Shadow Jones together as a family.

With over a decade of expertise in the luxury market—their design-driven, hands-on process has helped shape a brand ethos that reflects their coastal-inspired yet tailored aesthetic. On The Magicians, Hoag really got to stretch herself as the oversexed, magic-wielding mother of Alice Quinn, one of the series' leading ladies. Hoag's hammy performance as Stephanie Quinn provided some of the show's most memorable scenes, and included some of the wittiest mother-daughter banter on TV.

It’s these reasons that make Paige Turco one of the more forgettable iterations of the iconic news reporter. We pride ourselves on exceptional design, fusing style & function, while always applying a modern edge to each project.

An account on Twitter (@EricDJuly) decided to do a deeper dive and shared his findings on Twitter. The images that were often used to "prove" that April was black was an image of the character from the '80s when tight perms were popular. However, there's an explanation for this – in Volume one, No. 4, April goes to a salon for a makeover and opts for a perm. This belief began after TMNT's co-creator – Kevin Eastman – says he named the character after his ex-wife, who was mixed. A subtropical plant palette surrounds the main lawn and guest house, where sunny conditions allow the plants to thrive.

Its mission is to provide personal attention while offering a high level of design that adheres to the client’s aesthetic and budgetary goals. A go-to designer for discerning clientele and celebrities alike, all of who revere his raw yet refined sensibilities. As principal of his eponymous firm, Ryan has a gift for translating luxury into exquisitely designed spaces. Hoag's filmography includes Cadillac Man, 1998's disaster hit Armageddon, Bad City Blues, Salt, the 2010 remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, and the 2018 romantic drama Forever My Girl. According to IMDb, she has two upcoming features already in post-production, both still scheduled for release in 2020. Roll with It stars Hoag as Ruby, a small town waitress who enters the Cheatam County Fair Karaoke Contest in a desperate attempt to reverse her poor fortunes and save her house from foreclosure.

For viewers who are too young to remember the original TMNT, The Magicians was likely their first introduction to Judith Hoag. The Heroes in a Half Shell have seen a resurgence in popularity recently, thanks to a 2014 film revival followed by a slew of related media, but for fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' original iteration, the 1990 film will always be the gold standard. It’s odd because the idea here seems to be to make a less beautiful more average April. I don’t really agree that there’s a need for that, but that would still be a valid enough direction for some characters. Castillo apparently thinks that the “iconic details” of a character that has been in popular culture for nearly forty years means something yellow in her wardrobe, and don’t gender swap her.

House investigators scrutinize Rep Matt Gaetz's defunct federal criminal sex trafficking probe

The woman, who ABC News is not identifying, had previously been contacted by the committee about voluntarily sitting for an interview and had informed the committee that she had planned to "plead the fifth" on any questions related to the congressman, a source familiar told ABC News. The legislation passed with wide Democratic support and avoided a government shutdown, but Gaetz followed through on his threat. In an interview with CNN's "State of the Union" on Sunday, he announced he would be moving to oust McCarthy and accused the California Republican of repeatedly going back on the deal he made with conservatives in January in his bid for the gavel.

Why oust McCarthy? What Matt Gaetz has said about his motivations to remove the speaker of the House

ABC News previously reported that as part of his cooperation, Greenberg had provided investigators with years of Venmo and Cash App transactions and thousands of photos and videos, as well as access to personal social media accounts. The investigation of Mr. Gaetz has been slow moving as investigators have been sent a range of tips. Mr. Gaetz has claimed that the inquiry is in retaliation against him for taking the lead in ousting Kevin McCarthy as House speaker. It is unclear how useful the documents will be to the committee, which began its investigation into Mr. Gaetz several months ago, after concluding one into George Santos, the former New York representative who had fabricated large portions of his background as he ran for Congress. The House expelled Mr. Santos late last year, after the committee released its report. A year after the Justice Department decided not to bring charges against Representative Matt Gaetz in a sex-trafficking investigation, the House Ethics Committee is moving forward with an inquiry into him.

For presidential candidates who are not the Republican or Democratic Party nominee, getting on the ballot for the general election is a state-by-state, make-or-break scramble. Mr. Trump’s interview — in which he faced detailed and probing questions about his policy positions — reveals the pitfalls for candidates when they sit down with mainstream news organizations. But Mr. Biden has been even more averse to being questioned by journalists, a traditional undertaking of those running for the White House. Mr. Trump said he would “absolutely” consider pardoning every person who had been convicted on, or pleaded guilty to, charges related to the storming of the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. One notable part of Trump’s interview with Time — a relative rarity with a mainstream news outlet for him — was his leaving open the possibility of violence around the fall election’s aftermath. “It always depends on the fairness of the election.” It’s a warning that resonates differently after the riot of Jan. 6, 2021.

Trump again vows mass deportations and won’t rule out political violence.

A 2016 investigation by The Los Angeles Times found that many of the American Independent Party’s registered voters had marked their party affiliation in confusion, thinking they were registering as independents. In a video posted to his campaign website on Monday, Mr. Kennedy explained the back story of his alliance with the party, reflecting on his father’s presidential campaign in 1968, which ended with his assassination. The American Independent Party was founded in the late 1960s in San Francisco, and its first nominee for president, in 1968, was Mr. Wallace, the governor of Alabama who had built his career on “states’ rights” and opposition to desegregation. The party’s original platform focused on devolving power to the states, law and order, and ending the war in Vietnam. Democratic allies of President Biden, worried that Mr. Kennedy could have a spoiler effect on the election that hands the White House back to former President Donald J. Trump, have been waging a legal campaign to keep him off the ballot in key states.

On Friday, the House Ethics Committee also announced that it would investigate allegations that Rep. Tom Reed, R-N.Y., groped a female lobbyist in 2017. Reed has apologized for his actions and has said he will not seek reelection or run for governor of New York next year. The committee does not have jurisdiction over former members of Congress, so the investigation would be closed if Gaetz were to resign.

Mr. Kennedy lives in Los Angeles, and his running mate, Nicole Shanahan, is a Silicon Valley lawyer and investor. California is the fourth state where Mr. Kennedy, who is running as an independent, is all but assured a spot. The secretary of state’s office does not certify candidates until late August, the office said, but confirmed that Mr. Kennedy’s campaign filed paperwork on Monday. Critics of Tuesday’s ruling argued that the repercussions in Louisiana could extend beyond a single election, or even partisan divisions.

House Ethics Committee opens investigation into Rep. Matt Gaetz

Gaetz rattled off a list of issues McCarthy had agreed to put to a vote and criticized him for reaching a deal with Mr. Biden this summer to lift the debt ceiling. "He's the product of a corrupt system that rewards people who collect large sums of special interest money and then redistribute that money in exchange for political loyalty and political favors," Gaetz said. After filing his motion to vacate on Monday night, Gaetz denounced to reporters McCarthy as a figure compromised by special interests. Gaetz and his fellow GOP holdouts wanted to put an end to that practice, and return to "regular order" — the consideration and passage of the individual, annual spending bills.

Elections

In theory, executive branch departments — like the Pentagon, the Justice Department, Homeland Security — are funded through a dozen individual appropriations bills that set spending levels for the year ahead. These bills typically must be passed by Congress and signed by the president by the start of the new fiscal year on Oct. 1 to avoid a government shutdown. But why Gaetz would aim to remove McCarthy as speaker of the House at a time when voters far prefer Republicans than Democrats to handle the economy, and when Republicans only narrowly control the House, is a complicated question. The answer can be traced back to when McCarthy became speaker in the first place, just nine months ago. The House is now without a permanent speaker, after Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz's motion to vacate the speaker's chair proved successful in a historic vote on Tuesday, removing California Rep. Kevin McCarthy from the role. Gaetz, who is refusing to resign, did preemptively ask then-President Trump for a blanket pardon before the ex-president left office, according to two sources familiar with the situation.

But while he has been increasingly critical of the Israeli government, he has not made substantive changes to the United States’ policies, and has continued to provide weapons to Israel without conditions. The statement came after two tumultuous weeks in which pro-Palestinian protests spread to campuses across the country in the wake of a police crackdown at Columbia University. Students who oppose Israel’s actions in Gaza since Hamas’s Oct. 7 attack have set up encampments and, in many cases, kept them going after participants were suspended or arrested. Mr. Kennedy’s campaign says it has enough signatures to reach the ballot in six other states, including North Carolina, New Hampshire and Nevada. The campaign is gathering signatures using paid petitioners and volunteers in other states, including in New York. California has the most electoral votes of any state, with 54, and it has particular resonance for the Kennedy campaign.

The sworn statement places Gaetz at a party with the then-minor, who Gaetz has denied ever having a relationship with and previously claimed "doesn't exist" when asked about the allegations on Fox News in March 2021. The House Ethics Committee is investigating whether or not Rep. Matt Gaetz used illicit drugs as a member of Congress, multiple sources familiar with the committee's work told ABC News. "The committee notes the mere fact that it is investigating these allegations, and publicly disclosing its review, does not itself indicate that any violation has occurred, or reflect any judgment on behalf of the committee," the committee said in announcing both probes. "No other public comment will be made on this matter in accordance with committee rules." "What began with blaring headlines about 'sex trafficking' has now turned into a general fishing exercise about vacations and consensual relationships with adults," Gaetz's office added. "Yesterday, we even learned of some nonsense 'pardon' story that turned out to be false, and today it's just more euphemism. It's interesting to watch the Washington wheels grinding so hard every time one of their falsehoods gets knocked down."

As that Oct. 1 deadline approached this year, McCarthy brought up and the House passed four individual spending bills but said a continuing resolution would be needed to avoid a shutdown. Gaetz and about a dozen other Republicans saw this as McCarthy reneging on the terms of their deal to support him in the speaker's election and refused to go along with a funding extension. The House Ethics probe into Gaetz has continued to move forward in recent weeks, with investigators reaching out to more individuals, including young women who were allegedly paid by Gaetz's one-time close friend Joel Greenberg to attend sex parties, sources said. Though the statement obtained by Congress references Gaetz, it was not written specifically to the Ethics Committee and is not primarily about the congressman, and the woman does not discuss whether or not she had knowledge of Gaetz's alleged sexual relations with the then-minor, sources said. Gaetz has repeatedly denied all wrongdoing, including the allegations that he had sex with a minor.

Though Mr. Trump stated a number of plans for a second term, he declined to offer specific views on abortion, a searing and politically sensitive issue that has been central to elections since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022. Mr. Trump said he had not ruled out building new camps to hold undocumented migrants, a plan reported by The Times last year. And he told Time that his efforts would include giving the police immunity from prosecution, something he has mentioned recently on the campaign trail, too. If they weren’t able to, then I’d use the military,” he said, after describing the surge of migrants across the border as an “invasion,” language he uses frequently during campaign stops and interviews. A Biden campaign spokesman, James Singer, argued that Mr. Trump's stated plans were unconstitutional and anti-democratic.
